Alyssa Fazekas // Denver, CO
“I dropped my camera down the side of a mountain and watched it drop and bounce about 50 feet before it rested on some dirt and twigs.”
That was the implausible text I sent Alyssa explaining why we would have to go into our shoot blindly, without being able to digital check (my equivalent of a Polaroid) and proof poses before each of the 12 frames in the shoot. Thankfully, Alyssa was game. I have an extreme admiration of all the ballet photographers of old who could nail an entire shoot on only one roll of film. To ensure proper feet position, leg extension, and long lines without a digital proof of any sort is mind-blowing to me.
