Μαλένα Σέρβου // Santorini, Greece

The early morning before the shoot produced the single prettiest sunrise that I have ever seen in my life - which was surprising to me considering there had been 40mph winds and thunderstorms the night before. I had flown Malena in from Athens on the morning of the shoot, and was honestly too preoccupied with photographing the sunrise to worry about if they would arrive or not - it was seriously that pretty. Santorini was a city I had a lot of difficulty finding a willing ballerina who would fly from Athens, but Malena was immediately willing. You can’t guess any of that from this simple image. There’s nothing technically difficult about this image; just knowing the effort it took to make this image makes it one I like.
