Sally Turkel // Lima, Peru

Sally used to be a principal ballerina in San Antonio, but we never got to shoot. In fact, my only interaction with her was a brief greeting during a show she didn’t even dace because of an injury. I tried to orchestrate a shoot with her for many months, but we couldn’t ever get our schedules to align. Then one day while in a coffee shop in Mexico City, perusing social media, I saw Sally mention that she will be guest dancing in Lima - the exact city that I was traveling to at the moment! I reached out to her once more, and we finally made our schedules work: it just took traveling all the way to the bottom half of the world to connect. Afterwards, we ate at Punto Azul, which has been described to me as having best ceviche in all the world, sometime that I can definitely get behind.
