Rochelle & Luis // Phoenix, AZ

Many times I’ll scratch an idea I had if it’s not working well. I try to do as much pre-planning to ensure that I don’t waste any time. But then other times, I really like an idea enough to keep trying, even when the ballerina and danseur might not be feeling the idea as much as I personally think it deserves.

I’m a huge fan of shadows - hard sunlight can produce some great images, and can really showcase the hard work that the dancers put into their figures.

In the end, both Rochelle and Luis really liked this image; and I was happy with the extra time spent on making the shadows look just right.
